Terms of Sale and Use
Last updated: August 27, 2026
1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms govern access to PianoViz and the purchase and use of its digital services. By creating an account, using the service or placing an order, you accept the version of the Terms in force at that time.
If you use PianoViz on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
2. The PianoViz service
PianoViz lets users upload compatible audio or MIDI files, generate a limited free preview, transcribe piano audio with AI, customize and play an interactive visualization, store account projects, generate MIDI files when available, export videos and share projects by link.
Supported formats, maximum file sizes and durations, resolutions, frame rates, quotas and available features are shown in the interface and may evolve for technical, security or product-improvement reasons.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential and notify PianoViz promptly of unauthorized access.
You may sign in using email and password or Google where available. You may request account closure at contact@pianoviz.app. Information may remain after closure where required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Purchases may only be made by people legally able to enter into a contract, or with the authorization required by law.
4. Free previews
PianoViz currently offers a free ten-second preview, subject to a limit of five previews in a rolling twenty-four-hour period. This anti-abuse quota may be adjusted where necessary to protect availability and security.
A preview is temporary and does not guarantee that the full-file result will be identical over its entire duration.
5. Files and AI results
You must comply with the formats, size limits and duration limits displayed during upload. PianoViz currently supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG and MIDI files within the limits shown in the product.
Automatic transcription is optimized for piano. Accuracy depends on recording quality, noise, reverberation, mixing, additional instruments and musical complexity. Results may contain inaccurate notes, timing, velocity or durations and should be checked by a person where accuracy is important.
6. Credits, prices and payment
Paid features use PianoViz credits. At the date of these Terms, one full transcription costs one credit and one video export costs one credit. Any different price is displayed before confirmation.
Credits are sold in one-time packs with no subscription. Prices, included credits and applicable taxes are displayed before payment. Stripe processes payments; PianoViz does not store full card numbers.
Under the current commercial policy, purchased credits do not expire. They are personal, non-transferable, have no cash value and are not electronic money, without limiting statutory refund rights.
7. Processing and failed jobs
A credit is debited when a full transcription or video export is launched. If processing fails because of a technical issue attributable to the service, the corresponding credit is automatically restored or restored after support review.
Displayed processing times are estimates and may vary with file duration, demand and third-party infrastructure.
8. Withdrawal rights
Consumers in the European Union generally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract, subject to statutory exceptions.
Starting a paid transcription or export immediately may cause the withdrawal right to be lost only where the legal conditions are met, including prior express consent to immediate performance and express acknowledgement of that loss. Until PianoViz has collected those confirmations in the required form, applicable statutory withdrawal rights remain unaffected.
Where the right remains available, contact contact@pianoviz.app to exercise it. This section does not restrict any mandatory consumer right.
9. Incidents, refunds and legal conformity guarantee
Selecting the wrong file, a result consistent with the disclosed limits of automatic transcription, or an aesthetic preference does not automatically qualify for a commercial refund. This does not affect applicable withdrawal rights, the legal conformity guarantee or any other mandatory remedy.
Consumers benefit from the statutory conformity guarantee applicable to digital content and services under the conditions and time limits provided by law.
10. Your content and permissions
You retain the rights you hold in uploaded files and generated content. PianoViz does not give you rights in works, recordings or performances owned by someone else.
You confirm that you have all rights and permissions needed to upload, process, visualize, export and share your content. You grant PianoViz a non-exclusive license, limited to what is necessary to host, copy, convert, transcribe, render, display and transmit that content to provide and secure the service.
11. Share links
Anyone who obtains a project share link may be able to view that project. Do not use sharing for confidential content or content you are not allowed to distribute. Deleting a project normally makes its share link unavailable.
12. Prohibited uses
- Uploading or sharing unlawful, infringing or harmful content.
- Circumventing quotas, credits, access controls or security measures.
- Disrupting, overloading, probing or attacking the service.
- Reselling service access or credits without written authorization.
- Reverse engineering or extracting the software beyond what applicable law permits.
13. PianoViz intellectual property
PianoViz and its licensors retain all rights in the software, visualization engine, models, interfaces, brand, graphics, documentation and improvements. These Terms only grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service as intended.
14. Suspension, availability and changes
PianoViz may restrict or suspend an account for security risks, fraud, non-payment or a serious breach of these Terms. Where circumstances allow, the user will be informed.
PianoViz aims to provide a fast and reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may be added, changed or removed. Material adverse changes affecting a paid credit balance, an active order or mandatory consumer rights will be handled with appropriate notice and remedies.
15. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, legal guarantees or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that rule, PianoViz is not responsible for damage caused by a defective file, insufficient content rights, misuse, incompatible equipment or browser, or an external event that could not reasonably be anticipated or avoided.
For business users only, and except where prohibited by law, PianoViz's total liability for an event is limited to the amount paid for the directly affected services during the previous twelve months. This limitation does not apply to fraud, gross negligence, personal injury or any liability that cannot be limited.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of residence.
Please contact contact@pianoviz.app first so that an amicable solution can be sought. Consumers may then use the consumer mediator designated by PianoViz once its details have been communicated, and remain free to bring a claim before the competent court.
17. YouTube API Services
PianoViz's private social publishing client uses YouTube API Services. Use of YouTube-connected features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms, the YouTube API Services Developer Policies, and the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Only the owner or an authorized operator may connect a YouTube channel that they control. The client performs clearly displayed actions only after an explicit command, including the selected file, title, description, visibility and subscriber-notification setting. The authorizing user retains final control over every upload and comment.
The data accessed, locally stored, retention periods, security measures, revocation process and deletion process for YouTube API Services are described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Changes and contact
The version accepted at the time of an order applies to that order. Material changes affecting existing accounts will be announced within a reasonable period unless an urgent legal or security reason requires otherwise.
For questions about these Terms, contact contact@pianoviz.app.
